Also called: PSI, flat tires
What it does
The right pressure is printed on the tire's side as a range. Too low causes flats, wobbly handling and shorter range; fat tires run much lower pressures than road tires.
Signs of a problem
- Frequent flats
- Sluggish ride and less range
- Tire squirming in corners
Safe things to check
- Check pressure with a gauge at least every week or two.
Looking after it
- Use a pump that fits your valve type (Schrader or Presta).
