Also called: e-bike charger
What it does
It charges the battery safely and stops when it's full. A charger that merely plugs in isn't necessarily safe for your battery; CPSC has warned against "universal" e-bike chargers.
Signs of a problem
- No light on the charger
- Light blinks or shows full straight away
- Charger gets very hot
Safe things to check
- Try another wall outlet, not a power strip.
- Check both ends of the cord are fully plugged in.
- Blinking usually means a fault; check the charger's label or manual.
Looking after it
- Use only the charger that came with the battery or a maker-approved replacement.
- Charge where you can see it, not overnight while everyone's asleep.
