What it does
Most are built to cope with riding in the rain. Submerging the motor or battery, or spraying with a pressure washer, can push water into connectors and electronics.
Signs of a problem
- Faults or errors after rain or washing
- Display fogging
Safe things to check
- Switch off and let the bike dry fully before charging.
- If the motor or battery was submerged, don't charge or ride it; have it checked.
Looking after it
- Wash with a bucket and sponge, not a pressure washer.
- Take the battery out before washing if your bike allows it.
